What is Grim Story?
Grim Story is a character companion app for tabletop RPG players. Build detailed character sheets, chronicle your journey on a visual timeline, track relationships, write backstory, and customise the look of your character pages.
Is Grim Story free to use?
Yes — the Free tier is free forever. It includes 2 characters, the ability to join 1 campaign, limited timeline and relationship entries, and the default theme. Paid tiers with expanded features are coming soon.
What stage is Grim Story at?
Grim Story is currently in Early Access alpha. Core features are live and usable, but the app is actively being developed. You may encounter rough edges, and new features are added regularly.
What TTRPG systems does it support?
Grim Story is system-agnostic. It was built with D&D 5e in mind but works for any tabletop RPG — Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Ironsworn, or any homebrew system.
What are themes?
Themes change the background art on your dashboard and character pages. Current options include Library, Fantasy Forest, and Fantasy Town. You can also set a custom colour. More premium themes will be available in the Shop.
Can I share my character with my DM or party?
Character sharing is planned for paid tiers. It is not available in the current Early Access release.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Your data is stored securely via Supabase with row-level security — only you can access your characters. We do not sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What are the paid tiers?
Three paid tiers are planned — Player, Campaign, and DM — each unlocking additional characters, campaign tools, and features. Pricing will be announced closer to launch. These are not yet available but are coming soon.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
Use the bug and lightbulb buttons in the bottom-right corner of any page inside the app, or send us a message via the Contact page. We read every submission.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from the Account settings page inside the app. If you need help, contact us at support@grim-story.com.
